There's couple of donkeys over-wintering from Skeggy in the field behind my house and one of them is continually braying. I don't think the owners (or carers!) will hear it so I wonder if it's not well or if donkeys just like a good bray now and then!

You could try calling a local Donkey sanctuary and see if they know.. they would be pretty expert at Donkey behaviour I would imagine!
Unfortunately, that's the nature of donkeys and more so when they are alone.

We used to have donkeys and it sounds perfectly natural but if you are worried then it wouldn't do any harm to seek advice.
