I did one, gina. I went to stay with my auntie for a week and her father in law (a driving instructor) took me out for 2 hours a day (one in the morning, one in the dark).
At the end of the week he told me I was brilliant... because he felt safe enough to have a kip on the way back to the house after every lesson. He was an old man, bless him. :)
gina, I think it's horses for courses. different things suit different people. I remember cramming loads of lessons into a few days, 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, and it was really tiring. driving for 4 hours a day requires heaps of concentration.
I do think everyone needs to experience driving in different circumstances, weather, light, heavy traffic etc. I doubt you'll get all that from an intensive course.
thanks for your answers. doc, id be very surprised if after 47 years driving you havent picked up any bad habits and would pass all parts of the driving test set out these days, for starters your reaction isnt as quick as it should be is it
