Dreadful Mariah

Did anyone else think that Mariah's singing on X Factor left a lot to be desired? It was as if she was deliberately singing half heartedly in order to save her voice.Like the notes were a struggle to reach. She was flat throughout. Thankfully she reached the "Lord Knows" section but it was a close call! Was anyone else disappointed with her?!

Yep she wasnt all that, and the way that simon crawled up her arse, saying she was the best in the world, puke pass the sick bucket!!!!

Absolutely agree. I was cringing as I watched and thought she wasnt going to make it. I also thought Simon was OTT in praising her. she obviously has a good recording voice, but singing live????
What with her and Girls aloud the other week who were also rubbish, particularly Cheryl Cole, it makes you realise that some of the contestants are very good.

Heard girls aloud singing live on some morning show and cheryl coles singing was the worse out of all of them!!!

I was going to post on this myself. I do not profess to know much about Mariah Carey but I thought she was absolutely awful. All the female contestants are far better than her. Yet all the panel and contestants were so far up her **** it was cringing. (Sorry, I was going to say sycophatnic but it doesn't have quite the same impact.)

Surely shes's not the biggest selling female artist of all time really - I don't even know most of her songs

The thing is, if you watch her singing live from maybe 10 years ago, she is absolutely fantastic- up there with Celine and Barbra Streisand. I personally think she has trashed her voice by pushing it too far- and maybe drugs or alcohol have contributed. I think she definitely WAS amazing, but it is sad to see that is how she sings now.

It's the first time I've ever seen her actually singing and I said to my son ' Is she always this weak'?
Couldn't understand why she was revered as though she was a God.
Was disappointed that Simon made such a fuss as though she was brilliant. If one of the contestants had sung like that he'd have been slating them!

Yes but I have had the feeling lately that simon is a perfect policitian. ie he is full of it. He is a good actor. He never commented directly on Mariah's performance as I KNOW he would have been really shocked by how bad it was, so thats why he commented on her songwriting!

hi scarlett --- thank you so much for the maria careys link. was great, has a good voice!. but--i also watched leonas videos too, (on your link) and she was terrific. i honestly think she's better than maria carey singing. Mariah couldnt sing and she has the personality of a plank. Saw on the Xtra Factor and she was so dull.
