Which email program do you use? Outlook Express? Outlook? Something else?

Do you really mean "Task Manager"? Does it actually say "Task Manager"?

Does it actually say "Reply" or do you mean "Read Receipt" or "Delivery Receipt"?

hi koster ,I am using outlook express and no it isn't task manager, what is happening is ,every time i get an email it automatically sets a reply in the outbox .then I get a message saying 1 of 2 tasks completed. i.e it has compiled a reply but is waiting for me to send it,which obviously I dont do.I have to grag the 'reply' to the delete box and delete it.Just one more piece of info, at the end of these replies it says error 553 .can you shed any light? thankx
With regard to the issue with automatic replies, do the following:

Go to the "Tools" menu in Outlook Express. Go to "Message Rules". Go to "Mail". For each rule that you do not recognise, click "Remove". Finally click "OK".

Please note that these instructions are for "Windows Mail", which is the successor to "Outlook Express". The instructions may be slightly different but I hope they are similar enough for you to follow.

With regard to the 553 error, this means that the address you are sending emails from is different from the Internet Service Provider you connect to the Internet with. For example, you are using an @freeserve.co.uk email address but you are connecting to the Internet with Virgin. To find a solution, please tell us your Internet Service Provider name.
