My windows firewall keeps blocking things i dont want it to block, such as online games and downloads halfway through. I have set it not to block these programs but it still does after about 15-30 minutes. Ive found out that apparently its got something to do with service pack 2 and as ive got xp media center its built in and i cant remove it. Even if i switch my firewall off compleatly it still ends up blocking the program. Internet browsing is fine and the programs its blocking arnt illegal or offensive in anyway so i cant work it out. Is there a fix for this anybody knows about? Or possibly a program that will find and strip any firewalls so I can get a norton one instead?

If you've diabled your firewall and are still getting the problem, then I'd guess it's not your firewall at all.  Plus the fact that firewalls don't disconnect downloads halfway through.  Could it be your connection going down every 15 - 30 minutes?
