Saw this morning -bloke in Pink shirt and sticking up hair complaining that the Public dared to vote for their choice on Strictly come Prancing. How dare they disagree with an Expert ?

I agree with Craig - the public are keeping a clodhopping dance buffoon in the show at the expense of others who have put a lot more effort in and have a lot more talent.

Much as I like John Sergeant as a person, he should have the show weeks ago. He has admitted to putting less then 8 hours a week training in where others are committing to at least double that.

Regardless of the professionalism and expertise of the people who take all this seriously, the celebrities are not �professionals� and are being paid through our TV licences to entertain us on a Saturday night. Entertain us means make us laugh, keep us interested, and bare their arses and humiliate themselves in the face of arrogant pomposity.

Personally I don�t think the judges should even have the final say � it makes public voting virtually pointless.

Watch out for the vote rigging conspiracies when the Beeb �ensure� that JS goes out next week.

It's entertainment for gawd's sake!

If the judges wanted a "serious" dance competition they should re-introduce "Come Dancing" and watch the viewing figures fall down to embarrassing numbers.

Personally I even find the current "perfection" of the celebrities a bit nauseating. Surely the whole point is to see non-pro-dancers having a go. I agree that iot is a fiasco if someone who's completely inept wins the competition, which nearly happened with that awful kid from eastenders, but the judging is now such that it can't happen. If the viewers want John to stay, he should stay, end of story. There's no way he can win the final, or even get that far (when it gets down to four, he has to be in the dance-off if the judges give him the lowest score, regardless what the viewers vote.) so why not keep a bit of entertainment until that day.

Craig should remember what he's being paid for... to appear on a show designed to entertain. If he wants to be a "serious" judge then he should stick to "proper" ballroom dancing contests, which aren't televised and are unlikely to be!

Just said on another thread about X Factor that so long as the pubic are paying to vote they are entitled to vote for the act that gives them the most pleasure..........even if that act is not the most talented!

While I agree that it is an entertainment show, are you seriously telling me you are entertained by John Sargent have his dance partner dance around him like some light weight lap dance.

The only good thing this week is that we are rid of the final bit of dead wood (apart from John Sergeant himself).

If the aim of the competition is simply to entertain with no though given to the actual people putting on a decent performance, learning and getting better, then why bother, just get different people on each week to have a bit of a dance about.

While I agree it is up to the public to do as they please, it is called Strictly Come Dancing, not Strictly Personality contest.

As much as anything, this programme is showing that anyone can learn to dance and enjoy it, no matter what their standard.

John clearly is enjoying it and if more people his age go out and take up dancing as a result of him appearing on strictly, well, good for him.

With regards to others having put in more effort, it was stated last night that John has trained the second most amount of hours of any of the dancers, so how have others put in more effort?
