Anybody out there NOT like Christmas - I cant be bothered searching and searching for presents that people dump or pass onto other people as presents. Everybody I know today has everything they want - I know no poor people except those poor people of the 3rd world.

For weeks now they have been running ads with Christmassy tunes, fake snow and mulled ******* wine!
Christmas is still weeks away but with all these bl00dy ads I know I'm going to be pig sick hearing about it way before then.

Awwww I love Christmas!!!! I love the whole homely feel, the build up, cosy nights, the food and the laziness that I can get away with for a few days lol
We don't go overboard with presents and spend what we can afford. I look out for bargains during the year for christmas presents and have even made some (fabric advent calender, stockings, Christmas cakes...). My 2 know we don't have much money so understand that if they want an expensive present, that they won't be getting much else.
I believe that Christmas is what you make it :o)

I love Christmas and all the "eating, drinking and being merry" but I have to admit, I hate the adults exchanging presents thing.
The problem is that all the adults I know, have everything they want.
Many times I have suggested we adults stick to basic buying - smellies, chocs, bubble bath - that sort of thing, but the family won't hear of it. So it has become a bit of a sore point.
We once had a frank discussion. My mother in law (whom I had bought a luxury hamper for Xmas for several years, considering it to be a smashing pressie) asked me to stop buying a hamper, as she considered food an unsuitable present.
One of my sisters, who won't hear of knocking pressies on the head for adults, has a car boot sale every year, and sells off unwanted presents from the previous year.
I find it quite sad that folk will spend time searching for pressies, then find that when the truth is out, a lot of them are not wanted.
I will always buy for the youngsters, and I enjoy giving pressies to them, but for us "oldies" - not a pleasure for me, I am afraid.
