tooth extraction left with dry socket

can anyone help pleeeeze, i had a tooth pulled a week ago and have been left with what is known as a dry socket, very very painful, i had it packed with a paste of some sort yesterday but that has worn off does anyone know if i can take ibuprofen and co codamol toether for pain relief cos if i dont get any sleep soon i gonna go nuts

I am pretty sure that you can take ibuprofen and co-codamol together as long as you don't make a habit of it. I think the problem is that they may give you tummy problems. Having had the pain of a dry socket, I'd take the risk.
You might try your GP tomorrow with a phone consultation for some prescription pain relief...I found them much more sympathetic than my dentist who sugested that I "might try a paracetamol"...didn't even touch it.
