We have pre-booked a holiday and my son is 3 1/2 years old and there is an outbreak of chicken pox in our area. If he were to get it would we be allowed to fly? also if not I can't find a reference re chicken pox in my travel insurance would we be able to claim if we had to cancel the holiday?

If the spots were really visible then no you would not be able to fly until they were completely dried up and no longer infectious. However if your child did not get many spots I would definitely hide them and keep schtum if poss! In regards to the insurance I don't know, contact them and see.
