Ok, ive had this pain for around a month now. Its really really sore, tonight its brigning me close to tears. My bottom molar is giving alot of pain and i dont know why. I went to the dentest last week and they said it was because i had a gum deasise (sp). But now my gums are lovely and pink, im still getting this pain, and its getting worse. It feels like the back tooth is being pushed, and everytime i touch it it gives off a lot of pain. But, yesterday and the day before i got hardly any pain, as if it had all gone...
Whats going on? :'(
Im 17, so it could possibly be wisdom teeth?
This pain is getting unbarable, and i hate the fact you must wait so long for a damn dentest apointment.
Any advice to sooth this pain is much apriciated
Thanks.

possibly a gum infection? see your GP or go back to the dentist (GP is cheaper)
Try ibuprofen for the pain.
Surely you could get an emergency appointment with your dentist if you tell them you're in a lot of pain?
call nhs direct on 08454647 - they may be able to put you in touch with an on call dentist for now. if you are registered with an nhs dentist and you have urgent needs, they should see you ASAP. if you have a private dentist, they will see you whenever you want
if you are not registered at all, then ring up your local PALS service tomorrow (at your local primary care trust) and they will find you one

would a gum infection make my actual tooth sore to touch? If so, then ill just continue using the mouthwash my dentest gave me.

The pain is so bad, the pharmacy told me to take Ibprofen with solpaneine plus every 4 hours.

But solpaneine plus is 4 for 16 and you take 2 at a time
17 sounds a bit early to me for wisdom teeth, but I remember when mine came through it was pretty painful... but not for a month. I would definitely go to the dentist again if I were you.

In the meantime. try some corsodyl (I think it is called - it's a mouth wash and you'll find it in any chemist) - that's pretty good at fighting gum disease!

Ty bednods i will try that if the pain doesnt go away soon
arent prescriptions free for under 18's?

thanks sasha, thats the mouth wash the dentest gave me last week, and ive been taking it twice a day...

As i said, the pain did go away for a day and a half but its came back worse :(
good advice from sasha, but be aware medium term use of corsodyl can stain your teeth brown

yes they are but these werent prescribed pain killers.. i dont know how it all works lol i just wanted to buy them and get rid of my pain :(
Solpadiene is paracetamol with codeine. You should be able to get a much cheaper generic one at a pharmacy x
Have you tried bonjela to try and numb any pain in the gums?

I had horrible trouble with my wisdom teeth and had them all taken out when I was about 21/22.

I had flaps of skin over my wisdom teeth where they came through and they kept getting infected. The pain was unbearable when they got infected and by the time they took them out they were nearly impacted.
