Do you ever eavesdrop on people's conversations and then wish you could either have heard the start or stay to hear the end?

I was in the hairdressers today and a lady was talking to the male hairdresser in quite a loud voice to be heard above the sound of the hairdryer presumably, she was talking about cats and the conversation wasn't very interesting so when I was distracted I stopped listening, I was quickly drawn back into listening to the conversation again, when I heard "she lies on her back and opens her legs and I have to rub her tummy!" the hairdresser laughed and said he knew a girl like that once! I just hope they were still talking about cats, but I suppose I'll never know now

If he was a male hairdresser its a safe bet he was still talking about a cat.
