christmas quiz

there are two questions whose answers are in the form of dingbats and both answers are to do with christmas in some form:-

[1] Jerseys [ each letter is written smaller than the last so that the s is the smallest

[2] em

that is all the clue on the second one i' m afraid

The only really obscure idea I have is "The Cattle are lowing"? very tenuous using jerseys as cows??

thanks mama, that's looking good, any joy with em, all i kmow is that it is a printing term but it's a poor clue is em but knowing this quizmaster it will have a decent answer if anyone can get it, many thanks, hops

It may not help but em is me backwards.
