Is it just me or is the stuff in this store boring and old fashioned. Now I am no chicken but I do like something a bit different. Trouble is I have 200 of Debenham vouchers and today I couldn't find one single thing I liked. This is not really a serious Q but I would like to know if anyone else has found this.

I totally agree. I haven't used my Debenhams card for over a year now. The only thing that is quite good, if you need it of course, is if you wait for their sales and buy kitchenware. I got a lovely dinner service and glasses when they were reduced in the sale. I think they are only worth it when they are reduced though. Could save you a fortune in presents if you have friends or family getting married or anniversaries.
I agree, I think it is an awful store, and get dragged round there when I get home, but it's boring, good luck, you might find something there!
Actually I quite like it particularly some of the designer stuff like Julien MacDonald and Matthew Williamson!

Think M&S is boring though!!

So if you need any help spending your vouchers................

I actually really like a lot of their stuff as well, especially the homestuff and the designer ranges.

Does your store have concessions such as warehouse, oasis etc? Could you spend the vouchers there? (Sorry I don't know how old you are so don't know how appropriate this would be!)

Or what about spending it on any homestuff you need, duvet covers, crockery sets, la creuset, suitcases etc?

Does it have a beauty area? i find it's never too hard to spend the money there, on perfumes, makeup and beauty treatments in the beauty parlour!

Thanks for your replies. Some of the evening wear was nice but I just wanted everyday stuff and going to the pub stuff, but if I only want jumpers and cardis I would go to Primark, Debs seem to be full of these. I don't really want to be things for the house as these vouchers are a treat for me. I think it will be spent on the beauty stuff I need all the help I can get.
i quite like them for shoes and handbags. Also as mentioned I use oasis. There is a dorothy perkins, la senza, coast, kookai so quite a modern selection too - plus perfumes, beauty products, jewelery etc.
I go in the sales. I bought a couple of Wallis tops in the sale not long ago which were nice. I know what you mean I used to go and never buy anything. I moved to another town and my Debenhams now is better than my old one. Save them for the Christmas sales. I remember buying a short sleeved cardi in a lovely fushia colour for 3 and another top for 3. It must of been late January and they were getting rid of things but they were nice for the price.
I think it depends where you live. Some Debenhams are better than others. Try your store to see if there is a Red Herring concession as their clothes are lovely, I have a few and I'm not that young!
p.s You might be able to find a friend, associate who might make a deal with you and buy them cheap.
I would have no bother spending 200 in Debenhams! They have nice evening wear jewellery, coats household items and plenty of Christmas items! I always shop there for sale items and have picked up quite a few good bargains! You could also treat yourself to lunch if they have a restaurant! Their concession outlets are good for cosmetics handbags etc! Give it another try!
Sell them on Ebay! I sold thousands of pounds worth of vouchers on ebay after my wedding. You'll get AT LEAST 190 for 200 worth of vouchers.
