Just received an unexpected phone call from overseas. The gentleman at the other end said 'Good morning, this is UK Brands Surveys. How are you today?'

I replied: 'Very well, thank you; and you?'

'Fine' was the response.

'Then I said Goodbye'.

Now wasn't that nice?

Yes it was I'm sick of cold callers the more people like you the less we would get.

However to appease the appeaser next time say:

I am fine but busy can I speak to you later, when they say yes, ask for their home phone number and tell them you will ring them later.

When this elicits the obvious respone , ask why it ok for them to ring you then
