I would like to purchase a plug-in rodent deterent for the voles that come into my basement. How do I know that they won't affect my lovely dog. They say they won't in the advertisement, how do I know that is true.

Sorry those ultra-sonic things just don't work.

None of the professional companies use them and if they did work then they would.

get some humane traps they're cheaper and they work

I use RIDDEX and it works great. I have a shop in front and a dog kennel in the back and it does not effect the dogs at all. I also have one in the house and I keep a dog in there and he is just fine.
I've had 3 for years and they do help. Never had any problems with my dog, I think the frquency is such that they can't hear anything. apparently the devices work by sending vibrations through the elctic wires in the walls. I do sometimes get a mouse in but they don't stay long.
