Our granddaughter managed to knock over a lamp that is filled with kitchen oil? It has made a foot round stain on the carpet, can anyone let us know of a sure fire way of getting rid of the stain? We have been absorbing it with kitchen towel and been advised salt might help?
Any ideas?

hi
not sure if this will work on oil but pour soda water onto the the stain, this should fizz and lift it, as you say absorbe it ie keep pressing cloths onto the stain, under no cicumstances should you ever rub a spill or stain as this only pushes it deeper

Thanks I will give that a go!
Hi. I know that for wax stains, using a hot iron on top of an absorbant material works well. It might take out a lot of the oil and then may be gentle washing with hot soapy water might work.
