Heel blisters
6 Answers
I wore a new pair of shoes which I thought were OK. I realised both my heels were getting sore. I was out shopping and couldn't do anything. When I got home both heels are really red and sore and skin peeled away. What is the best way to treat this? I'm walking about bare footed as even slippers are uncomfortable.

Just wear a pair of loose socks if you need to tonight (assuming you are staying indoors) or backless slippers (mules?). If you do have to go out, put a plaster over the blistered area and wear some different shoes (with socks if you can to help protect your heels). When your heels have recovered, you might want to just wear the new shoes indoors or only on short jaunts out, to break them in.
Get someone to go and buy you some Compeed Blister plasters. They are specially designed for blisters and blister prevention and shouldn't come off when rubbed like the usual plasters. I discovered them in the foot section of Boots and I always use them to break shoes in. They come in a greeny blue case and you can get small and large ones. Here is a picture:
