Manfred Mann did this in the 60's and was covered by The Sweet in the 80's.

"fox on the run" by The Sweet was not the same song as that recorded by Manfed Mann.

I remember Fox on the Run by the Sweet. I thought it was great at the time. I thought it was an original.

Their song of that name was their first self-penned single, so it was an original, which simply shared the title of the Manfred Mann release.
