ps2 network adapter

does anybody know how the hell to configue the networkadapter.ive got it going through my router which my computers connected to and it is using the internet. i have an asdl connection with talktalk if that makes any difference. when i go to test the connection using the ps2 installation disk it says there is no valid internet connection which isnt true.


any help would be greatly received

Is the router configured to accept outgoing requests from the PS2?  In the router config, there should be something which lists attached devices.  Does the PS2 show up in there?  If not, the PS2 may not be setup for DHCP.  If the router doesn't use DHCP, have you set a correct subnet mask on the static IP of the PS2?  Does the router filter access by MAC address?  Is the MAC address of the PS2 network adapter entered into the router config?
