My son works as a keysmith but he also makes car registartion plates

he says the law changed 1st november and now only the GB EU logo is allowed and no colours or websites, so he reckons he is going to be mad busy. The law came in in 2001 but now the transition period is over and police will use fines. Your son might soon have to cope with electronic number plates. DVLA have been looking into this and have managed (as only Government agencies could) to produce a 46 page report, of which the index forms the first 18 pages!

The post you refer to makes perfect sense to me. The whole point about car radio codes is that 'Joe Public' can't access them without going through some accountable procedures. (Otherwise anyone could easily get hold of the code for a radio which they've stolen). The poster is simply pointing out that there's a risk to AB's reputation if the site is used to obtain such codes anonymously.

from what i have been told from my plate supplier is that this only applicable from 1st November,any plates made after this date have to meet the new regs, previously made plates are NOT affected, he will be no busier than normal.
