i usually connect to the internet via modem/router
adsl... but also use a dongle device if i travel
i need to know whether the antivirus/security
i already have protects me in the same way
whilst using the dongle

I answered this earlier in technology.

Yes they will still protect you, however you connect to the internet it is classed as an untrusted network connection so your firewall will still firewall it, your AV software will still scan downloads ETC ETC

It would be the same situation if you had simply changed your ISP and were using a different router... it's still a internet connection so you will be protected by all your existing security products
