Car Seats
Hi
I'm looking through the websites on car seats. My little one is 4 and a half months old
Ive seen the Britax Eclipse which I quite like and its on offer at the moment for 79 and it will last till shes 4 years old
However, I've seen ones that are Group 1 2 & 3 which will last her till shes 11. I quite fancy this type as it will save us having to look again in a few years
Does anyone have any recommendations for srats that she can use from approx 9 months - 11years.

hi
Just seen that one in argos for 119
Just off the phone to my friend and was speaking to her about it. Now i'm even more confused. She was like what kid will sit in a car seat till there 11. I thought that was law and the seat I'm looking for, I presume, that as the child gets older you would remove bits then it eventually ends up as a booster seat.
She did say however, her eldest does chew on the straps a lot and they are pretty grotty so no to sure how a seat would look in 10 years time

I agree that seats do become grotty and worn. We have had our car seat for less than a year and i already don't see how it's gonna last another a couple of years.
Also, when we were lookin for a car seat, we were told that it's safer to get seats in stages rather than one that lasts all the way through. I don't know how accurate that's just what the guy advising us in halfords said.
Happy car seat shopping.

Just wanted to say don't forget that car seats are not based on age, they are based on the child's weight. The age guide is usually an estimate of what the child's weight would be but you shouldn't say well my babies 9 months so they can go in a forward facing car seat because they might not be heavy enough. I was always advised to keep a baby in a rear facing car seat for as long as you possibly can as they are the safest. In regards to the seats that last until they are approx 11yrs you are right in saying they seperate to become just a booster but as far as I was aware these are suitable for older children weighing 28lb or more. My 4yr old has just been heavy enough to go in one.
