You can buy them in the chemist and in larger supermarkets. They come in two sizes - small and medium/large. Unless he has a really small nose, go for the medium/large.
There are other devices around but you need to find out what is causing the snoring - have a peek at this site:-

My hubby is the same evedawn.....know what you mean about the pillow...lol he uses a spray called 'STOP SNORING' It's not cheap at around 11 for 19ml but we get his from boots when they have 3for2 offers on. just spray to back of throat before going to bed and you should get a decent nights kip... good luck
There is an advert in the November SAGA magazine (page 161) for an anti-snorind device. Not much bigger than a wristwatch, the Relax Snore Stopper triggers a slight impulse when it detects a snore, stimulating the sleeper to change position. Easy to wear, but not suitable if you have a pacemaker. From Diabetes UK, 19.99 plus 4.99 p&p.

I had the same problem with my BF, I bought a snore ring off ebay, its a ring with two bumps on the inside ( for the accupressure point on the side of the little finger) when he wears this he does still snore but a lot lot quieter....more like breathing heavily.......I think they sell something similar in boots
