This is the last question that I need an answer for. I was hoping you had it when I received an email saying an answer had been found. I think the scope of the clue might be widened to include any popular song that was released around Christmas time, maybe as far back as the first world war.
In the meantime, I am awaiting a reply from my daughter who has the original sheet with song titles in initial form and a precise description of the clues.
Thanks for trying wideboy, I too have looked at the sites you mentioned and several more besides.

Hi westerland55, sorry to have disappointed you with false hope.
I even signed up for one of those places that let you text them a question and they guarantee an answer. Unfortunately, their answer was that they coudn't find the answer to your question!
No-one else has volunteered an answer - have you checked the letters yet - most frustrating.

Hello wideboy.
I have had a reply from my daughter and she says that the clue states :- The title of a Christmas song past or present, carol or chart hit. The initials of the words in the title appear to be I W T S Y B B but the I might possibly be an L. This would then be L W T S Y B B.
Sorry if it turns out to be a wild goose chase but I hope it doesn't.
I will submit the question with the L instead of the I and await responses if any.

Seems that boaw has found it in your more recent posting.
Couldn't find it using a simple Google search but eventually found it here:-

Bit obscure? Never heard of it.
