Extending TV and Sky cables
1 Answers
We want to relocate a TV to another location in our school. There is an aerial cable and a Sky cable.
If we simply use extension cables, will there be problems with signal loss? Does that apply to the Sky cable as well or just to the aerial cable? Would we need a booster? How far could we extend it without a booster?
I think it might be about 10 metres at present and this could increase to about 35 metres in the new location.

some people can't get a signal at all ... under any circumstances
the only way is to try
a booster isn't expensive (but will need a mains feed)
the sky box is less of an unknown (but I have no idea what the LNB and Aerial output/distances actually are)
perhaps http://www.mombu.com/hdtv/television/t-maximum -distance-from-sky-digibox-to-mini-dish-sky-14 17162.html will help you decide
..... a scart cable is out of the question though
