Better the devil you know???

I was young with 2 kids and decided that there had to be more than this to life. The tedium, monotomy.
I then went on to remarry -a good few years later and I can now say the grass isnt greener on the other side.
I made a mistake and I have paid hugely for it -case of too much too young although I wasnt young when we had J -I was 30 -but we had had too much fun on our own before kids.
Anyone else live with regrets with the benefit of 20/20 vision and hindsight.
I will live forever with my rash decision -but hey suppose thats life!!
Painful tho.
Anyone else regret trully a decision which in the fullness of time could have been absolved with maturity and hindsight ?
Tough call - I know.

we all live with all the decisions we make. Do you think you'd actually feel better now if you hadn't had fun when you were young? I know plenty of people who rather wish they'd enjoyed themselves more while they had the chance (to a very modest degree I'm one of those). Pretty well every big decision I've made in life could have been better, with hindsight - say 5% to 50% better - but as you say, that's life. As far as I know everyone has regrets; Bill Gates probably has some. The real question, I guess, is whether you're enjoying life now or whether the regrets are eating you up?

Hey Bath -wondered what happened to you -must be a gliitch somewhere -hear from you soon or vice versa x
Kno -no -wtf -I was really making an observation if you havent anything succint to say just belt up -sometimes youre just not funny -I could have posted in CB for inane p!sh but I didnt.
dusty -yeah -hindsight is a great thing -just wish that some would see what they had -which I did but it was too late -guess the thread is about people in general assessing their lives whilst they can - and not relying on hindsight.
goodbyegirl -sometomes your future is taken away from you and you are too silly not to appreciate it.
I know what you are saying but what im saying is grasp the nettle and just live each day as its your last.
I merely wondered if anyone had felt or been through the same-I have to live with this for the rest of my life -that is a hard task but I have no option and of course I can do it.
Any halfwits who think its a Dris is maudlin thread dont answer as im not -i'm trying in my cack handed way to make people realise what they have now and treasure it.

Dris I'm of the no point regretting it opinion myself.
Been there seen it done it so many times that i now am finally in the place where i intend staying.
I mean that mentally as well as geographically.
I'm now in the frame of mind where i realise that theres too much time spent on and wasted on arguments and upset in real life.
I'm out to enjoy myself and i intend to do just that.
I could look back , but to where? How far back do you look?
Ill be 44 next month and i could easily look back over the last 26 years and say i could go back to any point and change things , but the effect of doing that would have such repercussions that that's just not viable.
I am now and for the foreseeable future intend to be single , i have no regrets about that , no whines about loneliness etc .
I'm comfortable in my own company now and of the opinion that itd take a woman with the patience f an angel to live with me , therefore I'm realistically set on being a bachelor.
So regrets , Ive had a few , but then when i think about it , none id care to mention.
DID THAT HELP ?

thats the sad thing dris , something bad happens in life and it does make you think oh life is too short, i wish id done / hadnt done that certain something, but then as emotions etc start to calm down you kinda go off that frame of mind and go back to the " och theres always tomorrow " kinda way of thinking. do you ken what i mean ? i think we just take things for granted and are too lazy tbh.
Know what -I agree with ya both -I do regret the situ I find myself in but I regret even more the situ I could have been in and as long as my arse points down the way nothing will change that.
That is not because od circumstances it was bad tieming and I have to live with that and thats what i call a tough call..
Anyway -like I said its life -its karma for me.
I missed out -I didnt take the chance and I have to live with it and am doing so.Nothing else for it -life marches on despite the crud which it throws at you -I just wanted to make peopel aware of ehat they potentially are missing and crucially I dont want anyone to go through what I have gone through cos I thought everyone lived forever.

To Dris - hi there. You can regret, but you can always move forward hun. Past experiences are there to teach us, or to learn from - especially the bad ones. There's always a future though.
To Leggy - same applies, but again, never lock the door on what 's open to the future.
I don't regret anything in my life, except, perhaps that I didn't have more children when I was younger. Could still do it, but it means all sorts of obstacles first, so may not bother any more. I'm thank ful for the two beautiful kids i've already got, so I guess "regret" isn't really the right word. x

There is a common saying where I am from, You can not change the past and you can not touch the future.
So your whole life depends on what you do now. But that is not an end to it. Being human, we can only decide using our given senses. We are prone to make mistakes, and sometime be mislead by others. Mistakes are OK as it was not your fault at that time and whatever you did, you did the best way you knew how to and what to do. Then I have always believed in one thing that you should always do best according to your abilities and with clear conscious. But you should never fix your mind on result of your choice.
