Sorry anotheoldgit, I have just read your question to me, from last week now. In answer I have full respect for our armed forces, and they do their job , I feel as a British citizen protected, but all of these men and women go into the armed forces knowing the risk that in protecting your country you may risk your life. Just as I a nurse, and the ambulance men and firemen of the British public service went into our jobs to look after people, knowing that we may risk getting some grumpy patients. I wasn't brave enough for the risking death stuff. The reality is that without this choice, I sometimes do, in the call of duty, trying to look after British citizens, face serious harm or death on British soil. I suppose what I am saying is "hello...they are in the forces Gromit, nobody wants anybody to die, but when at war a country would expect the profession with the highest deaths to be those who signed up for war, not those naively going to work in a non combat environment, but they still die, in tragic circumstances"
