I don't agree with sending more troops. But Gromit as far as which profession has lost 300 in the last 6 years? could it be that most other professions didn't include going to war in the job description?

If you had read youngmafbog's post..................

Even now being in the forces is not the most dangerous job.

Gromit was answering this as follows...................

So which professions have seen more than 300 (British) deaths in the last 6 years?

So why did you find need to make this remark?

could it be that most other professions didn't include going to war in the job description?

jno, what is this guy on?????????

Can anyone make sense of this?

the British only like fighting wars when they think they're going to win. An understandable emotion, though perhaps it's just as well our grandparents didn't feel the same.

Nice to find a common link with you, get the ball out and perhaps we can have a kick-around on Christmas Day.

No war has ever been won on the battlefield alone a political solution needs to be accepted also.
The Taleban only have to resist to gain attention and despite what many people say they don't all want to die fighting for the cause that's just propaganda added to that a soldier who knows he's going to die tends to be careless the Kamikazes failed as a weapon of and so eventually will suicide bombers who kill more of their own people than anything else.
Like the nymphomaniac they are incapable of saying no.
No.
Not when the word is flying around that the future president is planning to withdraw US troops.
This is a rpoblem started by the USA so they should stay there and finish it.
So which professions have seen more than 300 (British) deaths in the last 6 years?

The Construction industry is much more dangerous!
Sorry anotheoldgit, I have just read your question to me, from last week now. In answer I have full respect for our armed forces, and they do their job , I feel as a British citizen protected, but all of these men and women go into the armed forces knowing the risk that in protecting your country you may risk your life. Just as I a nurse, and the ambulance men and firemen of the British public service went into our jobs to look after people, knowing that we may risk getting some grumpy patients. I wasn't brave enough for the risking death stuff. The reality is that without this choice, I sometimes do, in the call of duty, trying to look after British citizens, face serious harm or death on British soil. I suppose what I am saying is "hello...they are in the forces Gromit, nobody wants anybody to die, but when at war a country would expect the profession with the highest deaths to be those who signed up for war, not those naively going to work in a non combat environment, but they still die, in tragic circumstances"
