What does this message mean, please?

Sometimes when on a website, I get a message box up saying 'An error has occurred in the script on this page'. It then asks me if I want to carry on running scripts on the page. It also lists a charcter and line number and the URL. It doesn't matter whether I click on on yes or no regarding carrying on running the scripts, the page still seems to load. It especially happens on Facebook but I get it on other sites too. Does anyone know what it is about and whether it matters, whether it is our PC or a problem with the particular website? Thanks.

Just ignore it. 9 times out of 10 the error is made by the web developer and there is nothing you can do about it anyway.

You can disable these messages, by the way.

If you use IE

Tools - internet options - advaced

Scroll down the list to 'browsing' and untick ' display a notification about every script error'

Thank you for your help, Ethel, but I have just gone into Internet Options and it is already unticked. So is it just a case of having to ignore the ones that do pop up then?

just answer yes to continue (no will probably crash the browser)
