skint beyond belief but we get the money somehow every year dont we
I'm trying to hang on a long as possible - just in case the stores have a last minute sale.

I actually think the credit crunch has a hidden message in a sense because now, instead of going out buying everything we feel will make our loved ones happy, we now have to put some thought into it. Careful planning, getting the most for our money and making sure the gift you buy has a special meaning for the receiver.
- which is how it should be really.
The Credit Crunch hasn't affected me at all, I was sensible during the good times, so I have plenty of spare dosh.
Prices, mortgage rates, and inlation are coming down, long live the Credit Crunch!!
I've already bought all the main presants, got a few stockingfillers still too get, wil do that at last minute!
one of the reasons I save all year for Christmas is so I don;t have to wonder where I am going to get the money from
I'm one of the lucky ones - no mortgage and only one credit card. We both work and have one daughter at home
Saying that though, I have been a single parent on benefits but still saved for Christmas - it's the only way to go
I have a rich boyfriend......
So do I ummmm, he just won't let me at those off shore accounts. grrrrrrrr!
Some people are probably not quite skint, but are scared they are going to be, and so are cutting back a bit, and waiting for last minute reductions.
Nor will mine.......ra ra ra
If you can hold on I would.

Possible VAT cuts and low confidence.

I reckon the stores will lose their nerve this year and start cutting prices in the last week
I dont have any credit cards or loans and Im quite frugal, I also refuse to overbuy on xmas even though there is a lot of pressure to do so.

not spending a fortune on gifts is paramount
I have just worked 6 days straight and trust me, people are spending, i have just taken in excess of 12K in one week (just on shoes) and that is 7% up on the same week last year. so that is an increase above inflation. as a store they were massively up on LY too, people have waited until the special price events and though alot have used store cards, they have shopped at the best time to get the bargains. I just hope that we see this continue through to january now.
i don't do much christmas shopping but i do want a holiday bargain if anyone is in the trade!!!
stores are already having sales and making cuts on prices
20% off here and 24% off there, it all adds up
Some stores have 70% off - never been a better time to buy for xmas
