Cat Escapades
10 Answers
After removing HC from the neighbour's flat the other day (though I think she would be more than happy to have had him stay :)) have just been chatting to her boyfriend who grassed on some of his other escapades.
He woke up last week to find HC happily curled up on his feet having squeezed through an open window and the other day, took over his sofa while he had popped out with the binbags and then refused to budge :)
I said to just chuck him out but he said his girlfriend wouldn't let him, bless!
Nice to know there are nice cat friendly people about!
Cats eh!

I can remember being handed back a very wet bundle of fluffy tabby kitten by a (only slightly irate) neighbour... who declared.... "Is this yours ? If so, I rescued him from my pond...." and then another week, same neighbour handed same kitten back with the comment, "Is this yours, I rescued him from my apple tree...."
My wee thug managed to get into a neighbours house recently and *ahem* devoured their little boy's pet rat.... ooops ! Thank goodness it was a pet rat and not a wild one..... imagine the diseases that could have been carrying... mind, the neighbour was a bit upset ! I had to buy the lad two new pet rats to replace his lost one... but he had to promise me to keep them in their cages from now on....

Nooo! Poor ratty!
Am lucky my neighbours are cat lovers. She really wants a cat but is waiting til she gets a house so loves having HC around in the meantime.
I do worry where else he is going to get into though! Especially as he's not the easiest cat to move if he doesn't want to!
I think he is becoming a bit of a neighbourhood bully though. Have found him in three yowl offs with other cats, defending his new territory I guess.
He had some poor little fuffy thing up against a wall the other day, bless it, had to go try and rescue it, how horrible is that noise they make!

My oldest boy, during his gap year, enticed next doors cat in bit by bit. They had another cat and a new baby so I suspect Sally was feeling her nose out of joint a bit. Anyway, with the neighbours agreement, she eventually took us over as her main home. She has been with us since, about 12 years now. She is currently curled up in two human spaces on the sofa.
Cats are really canny at finding substitute slaves. I really think they do have kitty radar.
Has HC brought you any presents yet?

Eric, a cat I had several years ago, used to fetch up in various neighbours' houses. It never occurred to him that they might not want him there and he was such a sweetie that even the non cat-lovers would put up with him. One of the neighbours had a dog who hated cats but Eric just used to stroll into their house and even the dog ignored him. I think he admired the cheek of it.
My little 3-legged monster is tearing around the living room just now. The older girls are all having a wee snooze, but Mischa is hell-bent on disturbing their (and my) peace! She constantly "chirps" to let us all know where she is as well. BTW, wolf - thanks for the e-mail - hilarious!! You should post it on here! K xx
