advice please re my stupidity

HI, i had a pile of bank statements/leccy bills/cc statements that i was reserving for a big shredding sesh. Anyway, it turns out i have accidentally chucked them all out in the normal rubbish which went on thursday,
How worried should i be? What should i be doing now? (i have identity theft insurance)

Whilst there is obviously a rise in this sort of crime, and there are many victims, statistically, the chances of it happeneing to you for this one ommision, and probably no greater than expecting to be mugged when you walk out of your front door today. It was difficult to find statistics to back this up.
I agree, keep an eye on your accounts and report anything suspicious, but your statements are probably being eaten by seagulls and worms at this moment rather than being pored over by an identity thief.
