Ok have just asked in shopping section where I can buy a pair of gloves with string on and someone has said that they think they weren't bought that way but were simply sewn on by mummy or daddy!! Is this true??

you'll have to wait till after xmas may put them on facebook, the pic of me sewing them is gonna be funnier
who are you on facebook?
send a recommend this person to bigmamma, for me.
I think I remember seeing them for sale, but always made my daughter's .
4get , I dont think elastic will do. The string/wool has to be the length of both arms.

Like Netibiza, I made mine and I can also remember seeing them for sale.

When I was a little girl I always had these.
I was just trying to imagine elastic! It conjures up a funny picture of not being able to control your arms properly when you have the gloves on.

I hated those gloves with string when I was little, it was so difficult trying to get your coat on after school and the gloves always got stuck up the sleeves or you got tangled up in the string.

Your poor friend 4getmenot!!! (Did you enjoy the snow on Sunday?!)
4get if you put them on elastic wont they just disappear up the coat sleeves when she takes them off?

or when she wants to put the gloves on she'll have to go rummaging up her sleeves to find them.

if its the friend i think itd be then Id love to see a pic on FB of her with an arm up each opposing sleeve trying to get her idiot gloves on pmsl

lofty no one would come out to play :-( Elastic will work if I do it the length of the arms but will give it that little bit more length if needed. Dont think its the main friend you're thinking of just the other younger ditsy one :-) bless her
Lol the elastic was the length of sleeve tip to sleeve tip. It was just a bit more comfortable than string across the back
I did my daughter's in elastic, and as Rosetta says, it allowed for stretching.
