Richard Hickox died today. He was one of the most influential conductors of recent years. A prolific recorder with the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Sad. But also ...he was only 60. Suspected heart attack.

he was in lots of newspapers (possibly not the Sun). A friend of mine was going to a concert conducted by him tomorrow. I'm not sure if it's going ahead with someone else holding the baton.
