Hp 530 motherboard
Can i fit a hp 500 motherboard in a hp 530?
I have a hp530, with a blown motherboard, I am reluctant to sell it, as I have a brand new hard drive in it, and extra ram. I was wondering the compatibility of a hp500, with a hp530. As I can pick up a hp500 motherboard on ebay for around 30, this would be ideal, if it will fit/run ok. I can also pick up hp530 motherboard, put some items seems dubious, and there seems to be more availability of hp500 boards.

the rest of the world uses standard sized components .... all motherboards conform to industry standard sizes
EXCEPT the likes of dell and HP who build their own machines using their own sizes
It's not unusual to find risers used for PCI cards to reduce case sizes.
I don't know that particular model ... but on the face it sounds like a downgrade ....
I'd suggest either buying a 530 ...or wait 'till you get an answer on to your question already posted on the HP site.

they are laptops.
Don't even try, to many things that could cause problems.
The fact the specs varied a huge amount between different models for both will make it a nightmare, and your ram may not work anyhow.
