Hi,
can an employer stop you from taking paid holidays that you are owed.....purely because they are trying to keep there labour figures under budget?

Many thanks

No! You are entitled by law to a set amount of time off. They can tell you when to have holidays but they can't stop them completely.
They can ask you to take them at a later date though provided they keep within contractual terms and your holidays taken exceed the statutory minimum.
