with the news that Woolies (and MFI) are going into administration, will you miss Woolies? It's dreadful for the people who will be losing their jobs just before Christmas but the store has been on the way down for some time. I'm old enough to remeber when you could but loose biscuits in there (mmm.... coconut pyramids)

You're right pooshunny - the poor employees must be feeling dreadful right now and I do feel for them. There seems to be such a lot of this happening and from what was said on the news Woolies and MFI won't be the only ones in this situation.
QueenofAmber - I don't know how you can say Dorothy Perkins is not a 'big' name. It's been going for years and years, and is part of the Arcadia Group - Burton, Wallis, Evans, Topshop, Topman, all owned by the same company.

Woolies is good for brown paper, parcel string, sticky back plastic and bits n bobs. I'll be sad to see it go
I'll check back on this thread when I get home form work. I much preferred my job in Woolies, but now I work in an off licence selling booze and fags to work shy layabouts that use their benefits to buy it! Well at least I can say I have a job lol.
I will really be sorry to see Woolies go- my daughter loves the shop - I usually buy most of my Christmas and birthiday presents from there - I feel guilty now though as I took the easy option and bought everything from Amazon on line this year!!!

I doubt you're the only one toby - the thought of not having to fight my way round shops is very appealing
