How can I find out if my mother has remortgaged her house? I suspect my sister has forced her to do this to get the money

You can ask her.

If the house is registered with the Land Registery you can buy a copy of the Title online - it costs 3 - and this will show all mortgages.

Do watch timescales though as it can take a little while for things to get registered at the Land Registry.

If this could have been recent and there is nothing showing then have another check in a month or so.

There are searcehs and such which can be done to check on pending application sand such but I don't know if the general public have access to them in the same way practitioners do.
