Hey guys, i work in a pre school and i want to make some christmas stars that the children can wave around with my littleones (aged 2-4) I've got the star part all sorted but i need some kind of stick that the children can hold but that's also child friendly and stiff, any ideas will be much apprechated. xxx
If you use bendy straws then the star can be angled.
Last year I saved the washing liquid dispenser balls that come free with every bottle of persil liquid and wrapped them in bright paper and rolled them in glitter and sequins . Bit of string on the top and lovely tree baubles.
Diagonal twisty roll of paper or newspaper - this is effectively what a straw is but you can make it bigger with a broadsheet newspaper. Start with a tiny diagonal twizzle like you would if worrying at a bus ticket and work it up to as big as the sheet you have will allow. It is also good because incapable of accidentally poking an eye out.
wow! thank's for all your answers, think i might try the news paper one and wrap some kitchen roll round it that the children can colour in. I'm really excited, this is gonna be my first christams working with children :-)
