Banned no point!!!

I had a thread baned last night but what the point as I could easily post the same question to day

and if you are band why is it that the person who bans you can stay anonymous

Only the ED can ban threads. someone can report you, or someone in your thread who they think is breaking the rules. The thread is pulled and the offending answer (or postee) removed, and your thread could come back.
What was it about?

Isn't the Ed ultimately responsible for banning? Although I do accept that some users on here report others. The criteria for banning from here is very unclear , e.g. users banned for overposting (not sure what is wrong with that) but some users allowed to continually post homonyns (sound alikes) for swear words and no action is taken. Some users seem to have more "clout" with the Ed than others.

I think if someone is banned they should be sent a email explaning the reason why.

I don't see why the Ed (or whoever bans the questions)can't use something that we ourselves use when reporting questions. Surely it can't be that difficult to have a tick box at his end to tell you under which category your post was considered ban-worthy?

Does it have to be someone on here that has reported it? Could it not be that the on duty Ed has seen it and removed it, whilst monitoring the site?
