Is there a particular reason why you wish to know the name of the village?
I assume it's the answer to a competition
Question Author
It's the Where was I? competition in the Sunday Times.
Read the question again. It does not mention village.

The paragraph reads: I pass through a village - childhood home of a county cricketer (who is Godfrey Evans)
Haddick - yes you are correct. The paragraph does say that. BUT the question below does not ask you to name the village. Suggest you read it again.
Who is Britain's oldest brewer?
I gave you the answer yesterday and you rudely rejected it. As directed above I suggest you read question again.
Who is the patron saint of hopeless causes?
Can anybody answer this question properly, without being snide or rude?

I would like to know the name of the village as well.

I do not give a stuff about the competition answers.

The ST only ever provide the two answers, which is annoying at times.

I may as well throw this in. The second answer may not be the obvious one. There is another island that is part of a larger island, being on its southeastern tip. It can seen over the mud flats and it is called an island not an Isle.
For Over18.

If you enter "patron saint of lost causes" into Google it may help you. As another hint: It was also the name of a film co-staring a Doctor Who.
