lost my cat today

My wee Tonka had to get put down today and I am devastated!

When he was born I saved his life, he was born with the sac still round him and I had to take that off and rub his chest and breath up his nose. So I was there when he was born
Last night at work I got a phone call from my neighbour saying he was hurt, come home its bad.
I ran home and my baby was very badly hurt. the vet came out and took him away and I had to go up this morning and hold him while he got put to sleep. I'm gutted but his back was broken. cant believe how gutted I am but I love that cat!!

I'm so sorry for you mycats, most of us on here have had to go through this sort of thing so we know how you feel.I'ts dreadful I know and I feel for you, at least you were with him at the end and he did not go to rainbow bridge on his own.g.

Thank you for all your kind replies, I still keep crying at random times but I know it will get better. Burying him was very very hard and my other cat (his brother) is like a wee lost soul :-( x x

Sorry if this isnt helpful, but the baby cat is gone. You were obv the best owner for the little moggy. Perhaps time to give the same love to another?

I do have one cat left so he is getting a silly amount of cuddles just now :-) but at the moment the thought of any more is just too much

Oh mycats, I do feel for you, I really do. I didn't have much luck with cats before I had the one I have now. Two others died young (both run over) and it was devastating. I said I would never have another until my daughter brought this one we have now from a friend and pleaded with me, he was only 5 weeks old and I relented. Touch wood he made it and my daughter is all grown up now and my cat is getting on. Just keep cuddling your other cat and then he and you will feel comforted. x

Sorry mycats I hadn't seen your post. Thanks for you answer about my cat. It is so hard isn't it. We buried puss today and I keep crying on and off all the time. To make matters worse my other cat Boots is worrying me now, he is not eating, usually he is a pest when I am on the puter he tries to sit on the keyboard straight in front of me but he is just lying under the table. I bought him some chicken this morning, his favourite but he's not interested. I hope he will come round because I couldn't face loosing him as well. Anyway lets hope that my Puss and your Tonka are together and playing in a sunny meadow. xx

Aw puss, I'm sure your other boy is just sad and missing his brother. my Talynn hasnt left my side since Tonka went. I am still crying on and off unexpectedly I'm sure you're right and our boys are having a great time playing together x x
