shares from a long time ago.

I've found some shares that were invested in my name between the mid 1980's to the mid 1990's.  What are their status?  Can I still cash them in?

That's not really that long ago, I don't believe that there is any time limit on keeping shares, they are not going to expire. You can look up their value on www.londonstockexchange.com
