Good Evening AB Linkers, across the Globe!

Welcome to this very first week in the reign of Lady Slaney, who should appear in person tomorrow! Several of you would agree that slaney is a well known name on AnswerBank, who has helped many people out by answering the most obscure of cryptic clues. Yet she remains somewhat mysterious to such an extent that she is sometimes addressed on AnswerBank as Mr Slaney! I know that she is well suited to the title Lady! Just how much she will reveal will be up to her, but I would like to be among the first to wish her "Happy Birthday" for tomorrow.

we had a great Christmas dinner yesterday at work though well worth going to work for!

The funniest Christmas present I have seen is what my brother in law and his wife bought my sister in laws husband. It was a log and according to the label it had been treated with mushroom spores and would grow mushrooms!!!!! 3 years on they are still waiting for any sign of a mushroom!!!

2 years ago the same couple bought my 3 children and their partners 2 new pillows!!!!! That was really exciting!!!

Pauline, I was known as twix long before the chocolate biscuits were introduced and copied my nom de plume, although their advertising strapline was useful and never led to any complaints from the opposite sex!!!...as to the 123 I thought that AB required an id longer than four characters ;-)
