i prick the potatoe with a knife and put it in the micro for 5 mins so im not waiting all night for it to cook in the oven.it just quickens things up.Then i rub the spud in a little olive oil (this helps for a crispy skin)salt and black pepper.throw it in the oven gas 7 for about 25-30 mins it depends on the size of the spud your using.
I agree with the above method and have to add that M&S sell a variety of baking potato calles Marfona which is the nicest baking potato....tastes good even without butter.
