measuring 4lbs? i dont understand how a midwife can tell that from just feeling, even scans arent accurate.
I thought they had changed you due date recently, what was the reason for that?
If they do believe the gestation to be 37 weeks then they will not be willing to allow you over 40 weeks with a breach baby.
I think you need someone to measure baby when you have scan and get some answers

Try not to panic too much, though I know that's easy to say! I had to have my baby by emergency caesarean and was really scared but it wasn't as bad as I had feared. The epidural was brilliant. I didn't see the needle and didn't feel the injection. You've got time to try and turn your baby but if she won't turn then don't worry cos the epidural and c-section aren't as bad as you fear and you'll have your beautiful baby in your arms before you know it. Good luck x
well this is whats scaring me now becus i was told my baby wasnt growing so i had a scan which says she was 4lbs that was 2weeks ago and today my midwife had a feel and said she is still the same size which means she will be a small baby but he said that ecus im so small there is nothing to worry about! yea my due date was chang, ed someone along the way put my due date 4th jan but there now saying 30th dec and that i have to have another scan on monday to see the size and to just make sure he is rite about her being breech and if she is he said ill be going in for a section. loads of different people tell me different things all the time!
Hi carlie,
This is exactly the situation I'm in. Every morning I check to see if the little head is in the same place, and it is. I had a growth scan on Mon and they said my baby is slightly smaller than average too but nothing to worry about. Like redcrx said, they changed your dates recently, might the 1st still be right? They'll be able to tell you at your scan on Mon. I've had to do some reading up on sections quickly which has helped and I dont think its as bad as you think, I'm really scared of it too though. They give you epidural or a spinal anesthetic, I dont think a general is a good idea as I dont fancy waking up and not knowing what just happened. My consultant said they only do that in some cases of emergency sections, which yours would be elected c-section. Did they offer you the procedure to try and turn bubs (ecv)? I'm going for this on Monday and am more petrified of that than the section to be honest!! After that if it doesn't work, they are doing a section for me the week after.
All the books you read over the last 9 months, and the anti-natal classes, just tell you all about what contractions are like, what to do in labour, how your waters break etc then all of a sudden, right at the end, none of this applies to you. I feel scared and a bit cheated to be honest but, at the end of the day, I've concluded that all that matters is that they get bubs out the safest way for you both. Try not to worry hun. Seems we're both in the same boat exactly now! x
