well
this could take a while to explain
i saw a film a few years ago, (2000 or 2001 i think) it was a story of cinderella.
it set in a modern place but they still lived in a castle (not cartoon though)
um the prince was in a rock band (he played at the ball) and cinderella wore a blue dress made of flowers
umm now this is random, she went 2 see this lady/witch person under the sea who gave her the dress (fairy godmother equivalent!)
umm oh yes before she went to the ball she lost her slipper (duh!) and then sat by a fountain. the fairy godmother magiciked up out of the water some new blue petals that made up a new slipper!
cinderella had brown hair
i know this all sounds crazy but i swear this wasnt a dream. my brother remebers seeing it too but we can't remeber the name of it?!
please help!

All a bit surreal, and yes, it was a little dreamlike, but I quite enjoyed it.

I reckon it was EVER AFTER starring Drew Barrymore and Angelica Houston. Here's the plot summary:
Andy Tennant's film "Ever After" tells the "real" story of Cinderella. In this film version, Cinderella is Danielle De Barbarac, played to perfection by Drew Barrymore. Our heroine does have a wicked stepmother and stepsisters, but in no way is she in need of rescuing. Contrary to other adaptations of Cinderella, Danielle rescues herself from her horrible family and the prince from gypsies. With help from her fairy godmother Leonardo da Vinci, Danielle overcomes hardship, marries prince charming, and lives happily ever after.

I've been looking for this too, thanks SJ, I think it's the one. Here is a of useful link:

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it was ever released. I'd like to know if that's not the case!
