Spanish Holiday

Hi, my friends want to go to Spain late August for their anniversary, on an all inclusive basis, in or around Benidorm. Please can anyone recomend a good hotel within walking distance of the beach.

just back from benidorm as i write this, realy depends on the age of your friends, crystal park may be 5min walk,ambassador very good if thet are getting on very flat in the area and very close to beach also calypso, nxt door

My friends are middle 50's and the wife sometimes needs her wheelchair. I'll pass the hotel names on to them.

Have your friends ever been to Benidorm before? The reason I'm asking is that in my opinion, Benidorm in August is not for the faint-hearted.If your friends are seeking a relaxing romantic holiday it might not be suitable for them in high season. For a start it's normally incredibly hot in August,(could be difficult pushing a wheelchair),sand too hot to walk on barefoot,heaving with people (mainly Brits!) and gets very crowded. everywhere,especially the beaches.Lots of traffic and noise untill the small hours. A few lagerlout/"Chav" types too.(No prizes for guessing Nationality!) Although to be fair,it is a very family orientated resort and I always felt very safe at all times.The nightlife is excellent and caters for all tastes and ages.

Don't get me wrong, I love Spain and the Spanish and have had  a few fab holidays in Benidorm and the surrounding areas. Just not between June and the middle of September.
