If UK had adopted Sallic Law ie male only descendents to the throne, who would now be King ? I reckon Richard the Fourth (present duke of Gloucester). Take this from Edward the VII to present day. I may be in the wrong answer bank section.
thank you spudqueen for misinterpreting the question
I know about Victoria, Anne, Elizabeth 1 , Mary, Maud., but I asked if system exsisted since Edward VII.
Also would the list of Kings be any different if Edward VIII not abdicated? If you feel you do not know the answer please do not reply
There is no need to be so rude rainblue, I fully understand your question. What I don't understand is why the UK would adopt Sallic Law after having such an illustrious Queen as Victoria, and at a time when womens rights to equality (eg getting the vote) were becoming more prominent.
But yes, if you go with such a preposterous suggestion as changing the law in Edwardian times then I agree with you that the present Duke of Gloucester would be the present Monarch.
