t think the vw polo tdi does about 60+ mile per gallon, which is more the toyota pruis (whatever its called)

i also remember reading, could be wrong, that a 90% of a cars pollution comes from manufacturing it and destroying it, 5% from subsequent spares and 5% from fuel

so buy a classic car and save the world

I was very excited to learn that contrary to popular beliefe solar powered cars are on the way meaning no emmisions. The only impact on the environment would be manufacturing and disposing.
